Diphenhydramine
The type of antihistamine, which is found in various allergy and sleep medicines.
Medical complications
An overdose of this antihistamine could result into but not limited to the following complications.
· Bladder and kidneys inability to urinate
· Heart and blood vessels low blood pressure and Rapid heartbeat
· Convulsions (seizures), Delirium and Depression may occur to the nervous system.
Procedures for management
Rapid emergency action is needed but before calling emergency, it is advisable to obtain the individuals information
ü Patient's age, weight, and condition (for example, is the person awake or alert?)
ü Name of the product (ingredients and strengths, if known)
ü Time it was swallowed
ü Amount swallowed
